Hot Cross Buns
To make 24 Hot Cross Buns, you will need:
2 bags yeast
200 g sugar
4 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons nutmeg
100 g melted butter
100 g melted butter
100 g confectionner’s sugar
Heat the milk. Put it in a bowl.
Put the yeast in the hot milk, mix and let sit for 5 minutes.
Make the butter melt.
In the bowl, add the sugar, the salt, the butter, the cinammon, the nutmeg, the ginger and the eggs. Mix well.
Add the flour and knead the dough.
Add the sultanas and orange zests.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour.
Put the balls on parchment paper on a baking pan and let them rest for ½ hour.
Slash buns with a cross with a knife.
Put the pan in the oven and bake for 35 minutes.
Prepare the glaze by mixing the confectionner’s sugar, the water and lemon extract.
Spoon glaze over buns in a cross pattern.
Serve warm!
